How To Send Google+ (Google Plus) Invites

Google Plus Project Screenshot with Border

The other day I posted an article about Google+ now being open to new sign ups again. Since that post, Google Plus hit capacity, then it opened up again a little later to anyone with an invite to join. Now it appears, at least for the time being, sign-ups are staying open to anyone who is invited to join Google+ (Google Plus). In these past few days I’ve received quite a few requests from both friends and All Webmaster.com visitors to send them an invite to Google+. I’m still happy to do this if you need an invite (and while they’re still open), but I also thought it might be helpful to write a quick post showing you how to send a Google+ invite to your friends and family if you’ve already been able to join.

Sending a Google+ (Google Plus) Invite

The easiest way to send a Google+ invite is to login to your G+ account and navigate to the main page (click on the Google+ logo or the “Stream” link to get there). Once you’re on this page, look in the bottom of the right menu for a button that says “Invite people to join Google+”. If you don’t see this button it could mean that invites are currently closed (you should check back frequently as they have been opening and closing invites over the past few days). The Google+ invite button looks like this:

Now, click this button and a window will pop up with a text field to enter email addresses. The Google+ Invite pop up screen looks like this:

Next, enter the email addresses for any friends you want to send the invite. Their email address will turn blue after you type it. Click on this then click the “Invite” button. You should now see an “Invite Sent” screen, where you’ll have the option to add them to your circles. Click the done button when you’re inished and that’s all there is to it!

How to Send a Google+ (Google Plus) Invite by Sharing

If you don’t see the “Invite” button to complete the steps above, there’s still another way to send out Google+ invites. You can send the invite by sharing something with them or adding them to one of your circles. To do this, just post a message to your stream then click the “share” link under it.

You should see a screen that looks like the screenshot to the right.

Now, click where it says “Add circles or people to share with”. Type in the email address or addresses you want to send the invite to then click share. An email will be sent to this person saying you tried to share something with them on Google+ and they should also receive instructions in that email on how to join Google+ themselves. There you have it, another way to send a Google+ invite even if the invite button isn’t active (which happens from time to time since Google is still limiting the amount of people who can join).

Need a Google+ Invite?

If you need an invite to Google+, I’m happy to send you one. Just use the Facebook box below and “Like” AllWebmaster, then leave me a message on the wall asking for an invite. Or you can follow @AllWebmaster on Twitter and leave me a message there. Either way, I’ll send you your G+ invite as soon as I see your request. Once you get your invite you’ll be able to sign up to Google+ right away and will be one of the first people using it! Once you’re able to sign up, leave a comment below and let us all know your invite worked. This will help keep us posted on if new invites are still open or if Google closed them again.
